We at the Heritage are becoming quite tired of these cold and dreary days and hereby declare that it might as well be spring!
From supplements to honey to teas we have all of your allergy season necessities to ward off runny noses and sore throats.
While the pandemic spreads into it’s second year it’s important to remember to take care of yourself not just from getting sick but also staying in good spirits…take that bubble bath and light your incense because this spring we are manifesting happiness, people!!
Tea with honey has been a traditional cure-all for centuries, but finding the right herbal blend and local honey is key to keep you in tip top shape. Whether you buy from our bulk herbs section or get a prepared box tea the ingredients must add up to blissful protection. Stinging nettle and mullein are two that constantly come to mind for warding off allergies and keeping your congestion to a minimum. Eucalyptus and mugwort are also springtime classics that will keep you going when the weather switches back and forth from winter tundra to swamp to desert. All of these herbs we carry in our bulk department as well as in boxed herbal tea blends. We also have them in supplements, tinctures, and in some cases essential oils (check out the eucalyptus shower tablets from Aura Cacia) throughout the store.
Honey can be your most important tool in fighting allergy season.
Choosing a good local honey (like that from Golden Angels Apiary out of the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia) will not only greatly improve your cup of tea but also help you tolerate the pollen flurrying around outside once the flowers start to bloom. Other bee-adjacent options for allergy fighting (and an energy boost!) are royal jelly and bee pollen.
Last but certainly not least Boiron, Hylands, and Newton carry an impressive array of homeopathic allergy fighters. From tablets to tinctures we have everything you could possibly need to fight that nasal drip or cold.
To end I’d like to remind everyone to be kind when faced with adversary and hold your beliefs close to your heart as well as on your arm. Peace and love.
